There are various areas around the world that are so remote that it would be impossible to connect them to the grid. This is especially true in sub-Saharan Africa, where the off-grid solar market has seen exponential growth over the last decade. A solar home kit consists of a solar panel, a battery for energy storage and energy-efficient LED light bulbs.
