In seguito all&#8217;introduzione del Compute Module, il computer a scheda singola \u00e8 arrivato anche nell&#8217;ambiente industriale. L&#8217;azienda tedesca KUNBUS ha sviluppato un PC industriale modulare e a basso costo, il Revolution Pi, basato sul Compute Module e composto da hardware e software aperti, conformi allo standard EN61131-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I moduli base RevPi Core e Connect sono racchiusi in un sottile alloggiamento per guida top-hat e possono essere ampliati senza problemi con una serie di moduli I\/O e gateway fieldbus abbinati, a seconda delle esigenze. I moduli, che funzionano a 24 V, si collegano tra loro in pochi secondi tramite un ponte di connessione montato in alto, il PIBridge, e sono gi\u00e0 dotati di interfacce USB, Ethernet e HDMI, nonch\u00e9 di uno strumento di configurazione grafica di facile utilizzo. KUNBUS non si limita a divulgare gli schemi dei circuiti, ma porta avanti con coerenza il concetto di open-source con il software. \u00c8 preinstallata una versione adattata del sistema operativo Raspbian, noto per il Raspberry Pi (una variante di Debian), con una patch in tempo reale che include i driver per i moduli di espansione.  L&#8217;uso di Raspbian garantisce che qualsiasi software o applicazione che funziona su un Raspberry Pi funzioner\u00e0 anche su Revolution Pi.  L&#8217;accesso root completo rende possibile lo sviluppo e l&#8217;esecuzione di programmi propri senza alcuna barriera.  Gli utenti che preferiscono soluzioni software gi\u00e0 pronte possono trarre vantaggio dal fatto che KUNBUS offre software di controllo e SCADA potenti ed economici grazie alla collaborazione con diversi produttori di software.  In questo modo Revolution Pi pu\u00f2 essere ampliato e diventare un vero e proprio piccolo sistema di controllo adatto all&#8217;uso industriale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con Revolution Pi \u00e8 possibile implementare i pi\u00f9 diversi progetti IIoT e di automazione e realizzare nuovi concetti e soluzioni aziendali, come i servizi cloud.  In questo modo \u00e8 possibile entrare in nuovi mercati o spostare in modo significativo le catene del valore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un forum online mette in contatto sviluppatori e utenti di Revolution Pi di tutto il mondo. Questi includono i moduli base Core e Connect e si posizionano tra la serie RevPi 3+ e RevPi 4.  La serie RevPi 4 \u00e8 attualmente ancora in fase di sviluppo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Negli ultimi mesi, KUNBUS ha dovuto affrontare una serie di problemi relativi all&#8217;approvvigionamento dei moduli di calcolo.  Le richieste e gli ordini di molti clienti e persone interessate a Revolution Pi non hanno potuto essere evasi semplicemente perch\u00e9 non c&#8217;era abbastanza materiale da ordinare. In questa situazione, l&#8217;offerta della Raspberry Pi Foundation del CM4 come alternativa speciale al CM3+ \u00e8 arrivata al momento giusto. Si tratta di un modulo di calcolo con il fattore di forma del CM3+, sul quale \u00e8 installato il pi\u00f9 potente processore Arm Cortex-A72 a 1,5 GHz del CM4.  I moduli dispongono di una memoria flash eMMC fino a 32 GB, HDMI 2.0a ed Ethernet fino a 350 Mbit\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La differenza tra le serie S e SE \u00e8 che la serie S \u00e8 compatibile con tutti i moduli di espansione, compresi i gateway fieldbus.  La serie SE, invece, pu\u00f2 essere ampliata solo con moduli IO e, nel caso del RevPi Connect, con moduli Con.  I gateway per bus di campo non sono supportati nella serie SE.  Questa distinzione \u00e8 completamente nuova. La nuova CPU del Compute Module 4S \u00e8 supportata solo con il kernel 5.10. I clienti che utilizzano la propria immagine o l&#8217;immagine KUNBUS con un kernel pi\u00f9 vecchio devono aggiornare il kernel.
