Sensorer brukes for \u00e5 hjelpe sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren og \u00e5 s\u00f8rge for kritiske sikkerhetsfunksjoner. Sensorer spiller en kritisk rolle i sj\u00e5f\u00f8rens trygghet og kan bist\u00e5 sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren ved \u00e5 bruke en mengde forskjellige teknologier. Selvkj\u00f8rende sensorbiler ble f\u00f8rst aktuelle med Teslas autopilotteknologi i 2014. Autopilotteknologi bruker ulike typer kj\u00f8ret\u00f8ysensorteknologi og tilkoblingsteknologi for kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y for \u00e5 skape en fullstendig selvkj\u00f8rende bil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"kunstig-intelligens-og-dens-rolle\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kunstig intelligens og dens rolle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Som tidligere nevnt har de fleste biler de siste fem \u00e5rene v\u00e6rt avhengig av at sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren har kontroll over kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yet men de er ogs\u00e5 assistert av avanserte f\u00f8rerassistansesystemer (ADAS). ADAS kategoriseres utifra ulike niv\u00e5 av selvkj\u00f8ring, og det fins totalt fem niv\u00e5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Niv\u00e5 0: ADAS-systemet kan ikke kontrollere bilen, men kan videref\u00f8re informasjon til sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren.<\/li><li>Niv\u00e5 1 og 2: Disse er veldig like og inneb\u00e6rer at sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren fortsatt tar valgene. Hovedforskjellen er at niv\u00e5 1 kan kontrollere \u00e9n enkelt funksjonalitet, mens niv\u00e5 2 kan kontrollere flere.<\/li><li>Niv\u00e5 3-5: Bilens kontroll har \u00f8kt fra niv\u00e5 3 til 5. Niv\u00e5 5 er fullstendig selvkj\u00f8rende, hvor sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren hverken kan komme med innspill eller har kontroll over bilen. I ADAS-systemet kan niv\u00e5 3 eller 4 automatisk parkere bilen.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5let man n\u00e5 stiller seg er, kan kunstig intelligens dekke selvkj\u00f8rende bilers behov p\u00e5 en tilstrekkelig m\u00e5te? AI og maskinl\u00e6ring har allerede blitt en del av det daglige liv, men de kan ikke ene og alene l\u00f8se problemer selvstendig. N\u00e5r man ser p\u00e5 hvordan selvkj\u00f8rende kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y fungerer, er de avhengig av informasjon basert p\u00e5 rommet rundt dem. For \u00e5 n\u00e5 ADAS-niv\u00e5 3 til 5 vil data hentet fra sensorene som identifiserer kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y v\u00e6re n\u00f8kkelen. I fremtiden, og allerede p\u00e5 plass hos noen bilprodusenter, vil selvkj\u00f8rende biler trenge forbedret rombevissthet. Spesielt n\u00e5r det kommer til ekstreme v\u00e6rforhold og terreng. Forbedret bevissthet krever at objekter blir kartlagt n\u00e6rmere hverandre med eksakt lokasjonpresisjon. Her blir det viktig \u00e5 kombinere ulike typer sensorer for \u00e5 utgj\u00f8re den store forskjellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"hvorfor-sensorer-er-sa-viktige\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hvorfor sensorer er s\u00e5 viktige<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I bunn og grunn er det fordi sensorer er n\u00f8kkelen til \u00e5 skape en fullstendig selvkj\u00f8rende bil. Disse sensorene m\u00e5 fungere under alle mulige forhold, og i noen tilfeller kan d\u00e5rlig v\u00e6r p\u00e5virke dataen som blir samlet inn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>V\u00e6r og andre milj\u00f8faktorer som tung trafikk, skitne veiskilt og mangel p\u00e5 veioppmerking kan alle negativt p\u00e5virke sensorens n\u00f8yaktighet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De fleste selvkj\u00f8rende biler vil kunne bruke kunstig intelligens og maskinl\u00e6ring for \u00e5 bearbeide data fra sensorene. Dette gj\u00f8r at bilen vil v\u00e6re i stand til \u00e5 ta riktige avgj\u00f8relser. Maskinl\u00e6ring bruker algoritmer for \u00e5 identifisere og klassifisere objekter, som for eksempel biler, fotgjengere, gatelys, gateskilt for \u00e5 nevne noen. Bilen vil da v\u00e6re i stand til \u00e5 ta avgj\u00f8relser som \u00e5 styre, bremse og styre unna objekter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I fremtiden vil biler kunne foreta denne type identifisering og klassifisering mye raskere og mer effektivt enn vi mennesker kan. For \u00f8yeblikket fins det ikke et grunnlag som s\u00f8rger for at maskinl\u00e6ringsalgoritmene er trygge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det er ingen bred enighet mellom standardiseringsorganisasjoner for bilprodusenter p\u00e5 hvordan maskinl\u00e6ring skjer, testes og valideres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allmennheten og andre veibrukere har i stor grad akseptert de st\u00f8rste utfordringene for selvkj\u00f8rende biler. Offentligheten m\u00e5 involveres n\u00e5r det kommer til de kritiske beslutningene som m\u00e5 tas for \u00e5 kunne ta i bruk selvkj\u00f8rende biler. Uten dette kan teknologien for selvkj\u00f8rende biler avvises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For \u00e5 kunne gjennomf\u00f8re dette vil det v\u00e6re viktig \u00e5 samarbeide p\u00e5 tvers av bransjen, en oppgave som kan v\u00e6re vanskelig. Hver bit av puslespillet m\u00e5 passe sammen for \u00e5 kunne lykkes og sensorteknologien er den viktigste biten som skal passe.
