P\u00e5 tross av \u00e5 v\u00e6re universal kommer den i ulike typer og versjoner. USB-C blir mer og mer vanlig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I henhold til <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/news\/en\/press-room\/20220930IPR41928\/long-awaited-common-charger-for-mobile-devices-will-be-a-reality-in-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">n\u00e5v\u00e6rende EU-lover<\/a> m\u00e5 alle smarttelefoner, nettbrett og kamera solgt innad i EU ha en USB-C ladeport i l\u00f8pet av 2024. Fra 2026 vil dette ogs\u00e5 gjelde for b\u00e6rbare datamaskiner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>USB-C vil n\u00e5 v\u00e6re standard i en bransje som tidligere brukte andre typer. I denne artikkelen g\u00e5r vi gjennom andre popul\u00e6re USB-typer, i tillegg til USB-C. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.distrelec.com\/global\/?search=rnd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RND<\/a> selger alle disse typene og mer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"kort-om-usb\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kort om USB<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>USB (Universal Serial Bus) ble utviklet i 1996 for \u00e5 etablere kommunikasjon mellom en datamaskin og eksterne enheter. Siden den gang har USB utviklet seg betraktelig b\u00e5de innen hastighet og funksjoner, og nye versjoner lanseres med noen f\u00e5 \u00e5rs mellomrom.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tidligere hadde man andre tilkoblingstyper, med sine egne spesifikasjoner, som ADB, FireWire, SCSI. Disse ble gradvis erstattet av USB. For \u00e5 spare plass brukes disse p\u00e5 mindre enheter som spillkonsoller, mobiltelefoner og kamera. De er kun kompatible med USB 1.1 og 2.0-hastigheter og kommer med b\u00e5de 4 og 5 pinner.<\/li><li><strong>Mikro USB A og B<\/strong> har en avrundet topp og flat bunn. Disse er ogs\u00e5 sm\u00e5 kontakter og er vanlig i smarttelefoner, periferienheter for datamaskiner, og videospillkontrollere.<\/li><li><strong>USB-C<\/strong> &#8211; denne standarden har 24 pinner og er formet som en pille. USB-C ble lansert i 2014 og er den raskeste kontakten som kombinerer USB 3.0 og USB 3.0 for \u00e5 overf\u00f8re data fra 5 Gbps til 10 Gbps (mer om dette kan du lese nedenfor).<\/li><li><strong>USB-A<\/strong> &#8211; en flat kontakt som fortsatt er standard for datamaskiner og andre elektroniske enheter. Bokstaven C refererer til kontaktens formfaktor og b\u00f8r ikke forvirres med kontaktens egenskaper. Disse bestemmes av overf\u00f8ringskravene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Den er raskere, kraftigere og mer brukervennlig enn eldre typer og gj\u00f8r at man kan overf\u00f8re str\u00f8m og data over samme kabel. Den ble utviklet av <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USB Implementers Forum<\/a>(USB-IF), en gruppe selskaper som over \u00e5rene har utviklet, godkjent og veiledet USB-standarden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Da Iphone 5 ble lansert i 2012 ble Lightning-kabler standard for alle Apple-enheter. EU p\u00e5 sin side mente at det teknologiske tilkoblingslandskapet ble for komplisert og at det kun b\u00f8r v\u00e6re en standard p\u00e5 markedet; USB-C. Dette vil mest sannsynlig f\u00f8re til at USB-C-porter vil erstatte Lightning-kablene i nye Iphone-modeller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"egenskaper\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Egenskaper<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Selv om USB-C f\u00f8rst ble lansert i 2014 er kun i senere \u00e5r at den har blitt mer vanlig og n\u00e5 er den raskt utviklet seg til den mest popul\u00e6re typen p\u00e5 markedet. Den erstattet ikke bare tidligere USB-typer, men ogs\u00e5 standarder som Thunderbolt og DisplayPort. Selv om de ligner p\u00e5 hverandre p\u00e5 utsiden er USB 3.0 og USB 2.0 sv\u00e6rt ulike. Derfor er det viktig \u00e5 vite hva som gj\u00f8r de forskjellige.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.0 kan generere opptil 4.5W, mens den mye eldre 2.0 kan kun generere 2.5W.  USB Forum lanserte USB Power Delivery-spesifikasjoner med USB 3.2 Gen 1 og Gen 2, og leverer opptil 100W med kompatibelt utstyr. Denne standarden gj\u00f8r at man kan bruke USB-C-kontakter p\u00e5 de nyeste produktene, som Macbook fra Apple og Pixel-telefoner fra Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tillegg til \u00e5 ha \u00f8kt maksimumeffekt, bedre h\u00e5ndtering, og redesignet kontakter og kabler, kan man med USB 3.0 overf\u00f8re data raskere enn andre variasjoner &#8211; opptil 4.8 Gbps. Men enheten som brukes vil ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5virke overf\u00f8ringshastighetene.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Den nyeste USB-versjonen er 4.0 og er en USB-C type. Den erstatter 3.2 og 3.0 og gj\u00f8r at man kan overf\u00f8re data ved hastigheter p\u00e5 enten 40 eller 20 Gbps. Dette er nok til \u00e5 lade b\u00e6rbare PCer i tillegg til smarttelefoner og nettbrett. Husk at med oppgraderte kabler og kontakter kan USB-C overf\u00f8re data ved hastigheter opptil 10 Gbps. Hvis man fortsetter \u00e5 bruke porter p\u00e5 enheter i fremtiden vil USB-C utvilsomt v\u00e6re det naturlige valget. Nyere enheter har allerede minst \u00e9n C-port og med den nyeste EU-loven vil dette v\u00e6re tilfelle i \u00e5rene som kommer. Den nye loven vil likevel kun p\u00e5virke str\u00f8madaptere. Fordi USB A\/B ikke er bedre n\u00e5r det kommer til dataoverf\u00f8ring forventer vi at denne heller ikke vil brukes i datapplikasjoner i fremtiden.
