Men, det er ikke alltid trygt for elbiler og dette er forbudt i mange land. For tiden kan opptil 237.5 kW leveres med den gjeldende GB\/T DC-ladekontakten. Tesla Supercharger har en unik kontakt som ser ut som en standard AC type 2, men denne fungerer kun med Tesla-modeller. Selv om denne dominerer det europeiske lademarkedet, har de ogs\u00e5 designet biler med som er komptaible med CCS2 i Nord-Amerika. Elbiladaptere er for bilister som vil bytte lademetode eller kj\u00f8pe en ny elbil eller hybridbil. Det er ikke mange adaptere p\u00e5 markedet, p\u00e5 tross av at det fins mange standarder.
