Modulerte signaler vises bedre p\u00e5 et analogt oscilloskop, og digitale signaler kan ogs\u00e5 h\u00e5ndteres bra. En stabil sinusb\u00f8lge trenger bare rundt 500 punkter, og et enkelt oscilloskop lagrer rundt 2000 punkter.
