EEA konstaterar vidare att det \u00e4r den enda st\u00f6rre ekonomiska sektor som har sett en \u00f6kning av v\u00e4xthusgasutsl\u00e4ppen sedan 1990. Biobr\u00e4nslen tillverkas av biomassa, till exempel sk\u00f6rderester, alger eller avfallsmaterial. Biobr\u00e4nslen kan ers\u00e4tta eller anv\u00e4ndas tillsammans med traditionella br\u00e4nslen, vilket minskar utsl\u00e4ppen av v\u00e4xthusgaser.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00c4ven om vissa alternativa br\u00e4nslen kan bidra till att minska utsl\u00e4ppen av v\u00e4xthusgaser, b\u00f6r det slutliga m\u00e5let vara att \u00f6verg\u00e5 till utsl\u00e4ppsfria br\u00e4nslen. M\u00e5nga innovationer har gjort det m\u00f6jligt att presentera nya tekniker p\u00e5 marknaden, och i framtiden kan vi bara f\u00f6rv\u00e4nta oss att dessa tekniker kommer att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttras. Vissa infrastrukturella f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar kan dock beh\u00f6va g\u00f6ras f\u00f6r att tillgodose de mest effektiva innovationerna, som vi \u00e4nnu inte k\u00e4nner till.
