Vi kommer att utforska olika s\u00e4tt som ultraviolett ljus kan gynna tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdsbranschen med och f\u00f6rklara hur UV-ljus kan gynna djurlivet, t.ex. bin och getingar, under odlingsprocessen och f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra tillv\u00e4xtpotentialen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-is-ultraviolet\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is ultraviolet?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultraviolett str\u00e5lning \u00e4r en str\u00e5lning som finns b\u00e5de i det synliga och osynliga spektrumet. Ju kortare v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngd, desto mindre synlig och skadlig \u00e4r den. Den st\u00f6rsta delen av UV-A-str\u00e5lningen som avges av solen passerar genom ozonlagret och \u00e4r d\u00e4rf\u00f6r den vanligaste formen av ultraviolett str\u00e5lning.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>UVB-str\u00e5lning (fr\u00e5n 280 nm till 315 nm).<\/strong> Anv\u00e4nds fr\u00e4mst inom vattensterilisering och dekontaminering f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla att det inte bildas m\u00f6gel och sporer p\u00e5 v\u00e4xter. Detta g\u00f6rs genom att begr\u00e4nsa bakterierna i vattnet som m\u00f6gel och sporer vanligtvis skulle f\u00e4sta vid och utvecklas fr\u00e5n.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>UVC-str\u00e5lning (vanligtvis under 280 nm). <\/strong>Dessa v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngder filtreras vanligtvis av ozonskiktet och finns oftast inte i solljuset. Denna v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngd s\u00e4kerst\u00e4ller att bek\u00e4mpningsmedel och m\u00f6gel som kan p\u00e5tr\u00e4ffas under tillv\u00e4xten hos v\u00e4xter h\u00e4mmas\/utrotas, vilket g\u00f6r att v\u00e4xten kan blomstra i optimala odlingsf\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"why-do-plants-need-ultraviolet-light\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why do plants need ultraviolet light?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultraviolett ljus \u00e4r extremt viktigt f\u00f6r v\u00e4xternas tillv\u00e4xt. I s\u00e4kra doser hj\u00e4lper ultraviolett ljus v\u00e4xter och gr\u00f6dor att producera n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga v\u00e4xtoljor som inte bara f\u00f6rst\u00e4rker smaken och lukten hos frukt, utan som \u00e4ven hj\u00e4lper v\u00e4xterna att skydda sig sj\u00e4lva fr\u00e5n \u00f6verdriven ultraviolett exponering. Detta fungerar som deras egna naturliga solskydd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denna naturliga skyddsmekanism s\u00e4kerst\u00e4ller att v\u00e4xtens inre processer skyddas och garanterar optimala v\u00e4xtf\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden. V\u00e4xter \u00e4r i detta avseende mycket smarta eftersom de endast kommer att absorbera en korrekt m\u00e4ngd ultraviolett ljus som beh\u00f6vs f\u00f6r att denna sj\u00e4lvskyddande process ska starta och inte mer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultraviolett str\u00e5lning ligger utanf\u00f6r det fotosyntetiskt aktiva v\u00e5gbandet (PAR \u2013 den totala energi som en v\u00e4xt beh\u00f6ver, 400 \u2013 700 nm), men den \u00e4r biologiskt aktiv och reglerar tillv\u00e4xten av v\u00e4xter. N\u00e5gra vanliga positiva effekter av ultraviolett str\u00e5lning p\u00e5 gr\u00f6dor inkluderar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>H\u00e4mning av \u00f6versta skottet (kortare stj\u00e4lkar och mindre blad)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tjockare blad och mer vax (tjockare kutikula)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B\u00e4ttre f\u00e4rg p\u00e5 bladen (s\u00e4rskilt f\u00f6r v\u00e4xter med lila blad som r\u00f6dbladig sallat, lila hirs och fj\u00e4derborstgr\u00e4s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Forskning har ocks\u00e5 visat att v\u00e4xter som uts\u00e4tts f\u00f6r ultraviolett str\u00e5lning brukar ha f\u00e4rre skadedjur som livn\u00e4r sig p\u00e5 dem, visar \u00f6kad pollinering och ger en \u00f6vergripande \u00f6kning av produktionen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inkluderingen av UV-C inom LED-lampor f\u00f6r tillv\u00e4xt i tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdsodling kommer att g\u00f6ra det m\u00f6jligt f\u00f6r v\u00e4xter att v\u00e4xa och bli h\u00f6gre. D\u00e4remot m\u00e5ste man vara mycket f\u00f6rsiktig med UV-C eftersom v\u00e4xterna kan h\u00e4mmas i tillv\u00e4xten om de f\u00e5r f\u00f6r mycket. Det rekommenderas att till\u00e4mpa en dos p\u00e5 h\u00f6gst 15 minuter per vecka. Detta rekommenderas f\u00f6r all v\u00e4xttillv\u00e4xt (inklusive tr\u00e4d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-are-the-individual-benefits-of-uva-uvb-and-uvc-in-horticulture\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the individual benefits of UVA, UVB and UVC in horticulture?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Att anv\u00e4nda riktade UV-v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngder erbjuder en energieffektiv och optimal belysningsl\u00f6sning j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med andra befintliga alternativ p\u00e5 marknaden. Inkluderingen av ultravioletta LED-lampor g\u00f6r att odlingsmilj\u00f6n b\u00e4ttre kan efterlikna dagsljus och f\u00f6rl\u00e4nga odlingstimmarna. Detta kan till\u00e4mpas i milj\u00f6er b\u00e5de med och utan solljus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UV-A \u00e4r v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngden som oftast \u00e5terfinns inom det filtrerade solljuset\/hela spektrumet. Att inkludera detta i ditt spektrum kommer att \u00f6ka v\u00e4xtens effektivitet i fotosyntesen. Detta g\u00f6rs genom att rikta in sig p\u00e5 klorofyll A- och B-omr\u00e5dena i v\u00e4xten som absorberar den h\u00f6gsta m\u00e4ngden ljus fr\u00e5n intervallet 400 nm \u2212 460 nm. N\u00e4r det anv\u00e4nds tillsammans med fj\u00e4rr\u00f6da v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngder (720 \u2212 740 nm) kommer detta att kraftigt \u00f6ka ljusabsorptionen som beh\u00f6vs f\u00f6r fotosyntesen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En annan f\u00f6rdel med att anv\u00e4nda UV-A i v\u00e4xttillv\u00e4xt avser skillnaden i hur ett bi ser ljus j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med det m\u00e4nskliga \u00f6gat (vilket f\u00f6rklaras mer detaljerat nedan). Anv\u00e4ndningen av UV-A f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrar odlingsmilj\u00f6n och g\u00f6r det l\u00e4ttare f\u00f6r bina att pollinera v\u00e4xterna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UV-C, och mindre vanligt UV-B, anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r att desinficera vatten och ytor eftersom det d\u00f6dar n\u00e4stan alla mikroorganismer n\u00e4r det \u00e4r koncentrerat. Dessa v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngder med h\u00f6g energi kan potentiellt levereras till v\u00e4xter f\u00f6r att d\u00f6da patogener som \u00e4ven kan finnas p\u00e5 bladen. Ultraviolett ljus anv\u00e4nds ocks\u00e5 av insekter f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa dem navigera till blommor. Om ett v\u00e4xthus helt saknar ultraviolett ljus kan pollinerare ha sv\u00e5rt att hitta blommorna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e5got som emellertid m\u00e5ste beaktas \u00e4r att alla former av ultraviolett ljus (UV-A, UV-B och UV-C) \u00e4r skadliga f\u00f6r m\u00e4nniskor och n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga f\u00f6rsiktighets\u00e5tg\u00e4rder m\u00e5ste vidtas n\u00e4r man arbetar i en milj\u00f6 som anv\u00e4nder UV LED-belysning. Arbetarna b\u00f6r inte titta direkt in i ljuset och ett korrekt optiskt system m\u00e5ste anv\u00e4ndas under drift. Det rekommenderas att b\u00e4ra skyddsglas\u00f6gon hela tiden under drift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"is-ultraviolet-light-important-for-pollination\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is ultraviolet light important for pollination?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ett av de mest f\u00f6rv\u00e5nande aspekterna av ultraviolett ljus \u00e4r att det \u00e4r avg\u00f6rande f\u00f6r bin att anv\u00e4nda som en referenspunkt vid pollinering. I en nyligen genomf\u00f6rd studie av USDA (USA:s jordbruksministerium) uppt\u00e4cktes det att bin st\u00e5r f\u00f6r cirka 80 % av pollineringen och utan ultraviolett ljus hade bina vanligtvis sv\u00e5rt att hitta v\u00e4xterna att pollinera och dog innan de kunde g\u00f6ra det.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultraviolett str\u00e5lning \u00e4r mycket viktigt i denna process. S\u00e4ttet som binas receptorer fungerar p\u00e5 \u00e4r mycket annorlunda j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med hur m\u00e4nnisko\u00f6gat fungerar. Medan m\u00e4nnisko\u00f6gat \u00e4r mest k\u00e4nsligt f\u00f6r den gr\u00f6na delen av spektrumet, har det visat sig att bin \u00e4r mer k\u00e4nsliga f\u00f6r den osynliga ultravioletta sidan av spektrumet. M\u00e4nnisko\u00f6gon ser emellertid oftast bara i tv\u00e5 dimensioner, vilket inneb\u00e4r att vi endast kan se framsidan av ett f\u00f6rem\u00e5l och inte baksidan.
