The annual Embedded World Exhibition & Conference took place between Tuesday 14th March and Thursday 16th March this year.

The global exhibition is held in Nuremberg, Germany, and provides a fantastic meeting point for the entire embedded community, including industry experts, engineers, technical specialists, manufacturers, distributors, students and many more. It’s the ideal place for members of the embedded community to network, discuss industry trends, learn about new products and build partnerships. Companies participate as exhibitors to showcase the best in technology, automation and innovative engineering solutions. As a major European distributor of electronics, Distrelec is proud to have been invited to participate as an esteemed exhibitor for this exciting and highly-regarded event in 2023.

For Distrelec, the event was a brilliant way for members of the team from all of its offices around Europe to come together and form stronger relationships with each other. The company was represented from across the continent by the following specialists:

  • Holger Ruban (CEO)
  • Sales & Technical Support: André Hoffmann (Sales Director Germany), Jochen Alfons (Country Sales Manager Austria), Ad Hazenberg (Sales Director West), Nicole Wöhrmann, Ruud Vertommen, Marvin Hundsdörfer, Bouke van Dongen, Pascal Keller and Levin Seubert.
  • Marketing & Product Management (Manchester): Julia Stollberg, Daniel Ball, Adam Jeffery, Lucy Henshaw, Janis Siklis, Dominic Devlin, Dave Wood and Ash Ali.

What happened at Embedded World 2023?

This year’s edition saw Distrelec go bigger and better than ever before. A larger booth with more products on show and product giveaways were just a few factors that contributed to high interest at the stand from professionals and students alike. The most popular attraction at the stand, however, was the World’s Largest Pac Man game. With nostalgia filling the air around the Nuremberg Convention Centre, the impressive display was reigniting the inner child of passers-by, most of whom couldn’t avoid walking past without at least taking a photo.

Those who couldn’t resist a go at the cult classic on the huge billboard screen battled it out for the chance to take home a €50 Amazon voucher. The winner on the first day was Florian Vamosi.

Winner, winner!

Florian wasn’t the only one celebrating at the conference. One of the highlights of the event was during a meeting with Moxa, when it was announced that Distrelec had been chosen as the supplier’s ‘Best Reseller 2022’. Distrelec is honoured to have been selected for this award which highlights and champions the team’s hard work, and is excited to grow the partnership for the rest of 2023 and beyond.

We exhibited products on the stand from suppliers such as Moxa, Tektronix, and our own brand RND.

RND

RND had a lot of interest at Embedded World. As well as having products on display at the booth, the RND team also gave away 500 torches, 450 battery packs and more than 100 flash drives to customers. In addition to this, there was an opportunity for customers to win an RND waveform generator by scanning a QR code. In total, 307 people scanned and put their name in the hat.

RND also offers affordable and reliable products for engineering students such as tools and components like resistors, breadboards and pliers. Read more about how RND provides students with the tools to succeed

Whilst the first few days saw many professionals exploring the latest technologies and networking with their counterparts across a range of disciplines, the last day was more student-heavy. Younger students had the chance to learn from industry experts, whilst university students were able to scout out products to use for their projects. The sheer diversity of people, young to old, rookies to experts, is what we believe makes Embedded World one of the most important dates in the calendar.

After last year’s edition which still had restrictions in place, Embedded World 2023 was a much more personable and relaxed experience, which was very well-received by everyone. Distrelec greatly appreciated the opportunity to be a part of the event, and hope that conferences such as this one in Germany continue to be organised every year so exhibitors can showcase the newest innovations, and students can get a valuable insight into the embedded world!
